Week 1: Indian Epics

I've always been very intrigued with eastern Indian culture and as a Professional Writing major I'd love to learn about the stories that began the culture. I do know a little bit, though I have not read the books for this class I have heard of them. I took a non-western dance course a couple semesters ago and the Mahabharata and the Ramayana are basically the stories that they dance to over and over and they're beautiful. So I'm just so excited to finally get to read them and put my own spin on them like what has been done since they were written.
